The composition starts with a geometric structure organised around a centre, and the painting highlights this centre even further by leaving the more distant areas unresolved. The detachment arises from the relationship between the forms, suggesting that the figure is not resting on any surface. However, we also see different stages of the creative process, from the initial drawing to the more finished areas.
The work draws a parallel with our own individual construction, for which we are not always able to gain the necessary distance to see its countless layers.
